After a full week of rumors surrounding the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident, which took place last Saturday on the eve of the Grammy awards resulting in both artists canceling their scheduled performances, Chris finally speaks to the public about his actions.

“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds.”

Its very nice and all, but is he actually sorry or is this just publicity bullshit? Some reports say this isn’t the first time of abuse in the relationship, just this time it got really out of control.

According to an interview in 2007 with GIANT magazine, chris spoke about his family’s history of abuse. At the young age of 11, he told his mother he would go to jail for killing his abusive step father.

“I just want you to know that I love you,” Brown told his mother, according to the magazine. “But I’m gonna take a baseball bat one day while you at work, and I’m gonna kill him.”

“He used to hit my mom … He made me terrified all the time, terrified like I had to pee on myself,” Brown claimed during the interview. “I remember one night he made her nose bleed. I was crying and thinking, ‘I’m just gonna go crazy on him one day,’ I hate him to this day.”

Brown said he would keep himself occupied with Music, Basketball, and drawing, to keep him away from the violence. Guess it didn’t help what so ever.

LAPD confirmed Chris Brown turned himself in on Sunday evening, and was being held on a $50,000 bail under a felony charge. He has since been released from custody.
