Hey boys and girls! You’re definitely gonna want to check out this band! They’re called Call The Cops and they are one of the Top 5 Finalists in the Toyota MySpace Rock The Space Music Contest! So without further ado, let’s get to the interview!
EpicBull: Hey guys! Thanks for talking to EpicBull! We’re looking to expose new bands and get your name out there to people who may not otherwise have heard you. So please first tell us who you are, when/how did you meet, and what your band’s name is?
Call The Cops: Will Shuck, Justin Allen, Mike Cardwell, Stew Richmond, and Billy Gavin. We all met as friends growing up and Started the band Call The Cops.
EB: I was reading on your MySpace that you were a Top 5 Finalist for the Toyota Rock The Space Contest! Congrats on that. Was this your first big recognition or do you have many other accolades?
CTC: This was pretty much the biggest thing that has happened to our band so far. We have just been working really hard and they presented this opportunity for us. Lets hope we win.
EB: So how would you describe the sound of your band? And who are your influences?
CTC: We have described it as pop rocks and soda mixing before but more seriously I would say a mixture of pop punk and electronic dance beats. Easy on the ears and great for the feet.
EB: I noticed you guys are playing quite a few tour dates coming up which readers can find on your MySpace page. What can your fans expect to see at a Call The Cops show? Will the cops really show up? (just kidding)
CTC: Yeah we have a ton of dates lined up. At any of our shows we just push out high energy and tons of fun for us and our fans. So for fans out there come to our shows and HANG OUT! We need other people to talk to other then ourselves. Funny that you say that because our last tour we had about 6 occasions where either the cops or the fire department showed up because of fog we use and how loud we are so definitely expect someone to “Call The Cops”.
EB: It looks like you’ve just shot your first music video called “Love Like Novocaine”. How was that experience and will there be more videos in the future?
CTC: “Love Like Novocaine” was really fun. We just went to a golf course and basically hung out with fans that showed up. Kind of winged it . We just finished actually a new video last week for the song “Motion Sickness” and that will be up in about 3 weeks. It was really fun as well but took three days and lots of energy. I don’t know how I am alive still.
EB: So do you guys just have the one EP or will you have a full studio album coming out in the future?
CTC: We just have our one EP, “Motion Sickness” right now but will have a full-length hopefully soon. We need to get on a label and start recording. We have tons of new songs to share with everyone so keep an eye out for them.
EB: Thanks for taking the time to talk to EpicBull. Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know about your band?
