This is our latest new music interview with an up and coming band called “The Early Strike”! They’re currently on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour and they took time out of their busy schedule to chat with us.

EpicBull: Hello Early Strike! Thanks for doing this interview with EpicBull today, we really appreciate you taking your time out of your busy schedule. So please tell us who is in your band and how did you form?

The Early Strike: No Problem, we both love doing interviews and talking to new people. The Early Strike consist of currently Ryan Shaw (Vocals,Guitar) and Britt Uncles (Vocals,Bass). We are currently looking for a new guitarist and drummer to fill in the blank spots in the group but we are making things work obviously. We formed about 3 1/2 years ago when we met in San Antonio, TX at a local show. We were both in different local bands and eventually got to talking and shared some concepts and then The Early Strike was formed..

EB: I see that you are playing the Warped Tour? How is that going? Any memorable experiences from the tour?

TES: Warped Tour 2009 has been really fun and this year has been really special because it was the 15 year anniversary and it was our first year on the tour with such great bands on the bill. The whole tour and show is a GREAT experience for bands and fans both. I just think that the biggest experience for us would be after our set having tons of new kids and fans coming up to say hi and so interested in the band. It is just a great BIG deal of energy coming from the kids on the Warped Tour dates when we play. That’s why we dish out the high energy music that they eat up.

EB: Tell us what our readers can expect to see at an Early Strike show if they catch you on the Vans 2009 Warped Tour?

TES: You can expect to see a high energy performance with a lot of crowd participation. Also, some odd not so funny jokes that we think are hilarious. Pretty much expect some punk kids goofing off on stage singing songs about teenage politics not American or World politics… Teenage politics. Ha!

EB: I see you have an upcoming release coming out. Do you have a title for the CD yet?

TES: Yes, We do have a new CD coming out sometime soon and we have thought about several names a couple being “Held For Ransom” and “The Perfect Game”. Nothing is set in stone right now we are still brainstorming on art concepts and all so if anyone gets inspired and wants to come up with some ideas message us!!! We have a self titled album on iTunes currently as well so pick that up it’s really good music.

EB: How would you describe the sound of The Early Strike?

TES: We sound like Punk music with a really glossy Pop edge. Not to rough and tough more clean sounding. I would have to add though that we do sound more like the old school Pop Punk and not really the new sounding bands like All Time Low. We follow more of the Blink-182, New Found Glory, Sum 41 and Mest pop punk sound. All good bands though.

EB: Well thanks for taking time out of your Warped Tour shows to talk with EpicBull, we appreciate it! Do you have anything else you’d like to add?
