Here’s a nice refreshing kind of band. They are called The Summer Set and their a hot pop/punk band from Scottsdale, AZ. We got the exciting opportunity to interview them and this is how it came out.

EpicBull: Thanks for talking to us today, please introduce yourselves to our readers.

The Summer Set: Hey EpicBull what’s going on? This is Brian and Jess from The Summer Set.

EB: The Summer Set falls into the pop rock/punk genre. How would YOU describe the sound of your band?

TSS Brian: We would describe our sound as fun-pop rock. We all have very different influences but they all come together though our recordings and on stage that we love to have a good time. There is a lot of negative music out there and we strive to be a positive band. We wanna make music that makes people feel good.

EB: Please tell us about your first full length album coming out this fall.

TSS Brian: Our first album coming out this October is called “Love Like This”. It’s an 11 song blend of all of our different influences. We really wanted to make our first record something that everyone could listen to from teenage girls to even our parents. We’re really proud of it and excited for everyone to hear it.

EB: I’ve noticed the entire band is on Twitter, has it been able to be used to your advantage in this technology age? How else do you promote yourselves?

TSS Brian: Twitter has been an awesome way to stay in touch with our fan base. Fans love being able to talk to their favorite bands on a personal level. Twitter and other social networking sites has made it very easy for fans to realize that we’re all really normal and friendly people too. Twitter is also becoming one of the fastest and easiest ways to update our fanbase on things going on with the band. Our band is pretty friendly with all the social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Buzznet, etc….

EB: It’s refreshing to see a female on drums these days. Tell us a little bit about the response you get from fans? What is it like being the only female in the band?

TSS Jess: The response I get from fans is great and I love being an inspiration for other young girls to get out and play music and join a band. Being the only female in the band is great. I honestly would rather tour with all guys than all girls, they’re surprisingly much easier to get along with.
