As Kevin Costner’s band was playing at the Big Valley Jamboree in Alberta, Canada a storm was brewing. By the time Costner’s band left the stage, it was in full force and the stage collapsed! One person has died and 40 more were injured in the freak accident. As concertgoers feared that a tornado was coming, they were all hurrying to exit.
“I can’t describe the sky — it was brown and purple and green,” CFCW radio personality Danny Hooper said. “The massive wind blew me backwards.”
“It felt like bombs were going off around us in this concrete and steel building. Huge hits of power hitting the building, and then the lights were off,” Vancouver-based country music singer Jessie Ferrel told CTV News. “People were missing and trying to find each other and there was a woman who was trying to tell everyone to stop panicking and she was panicking.”
Kevin Costner was okay and the storm blew in after he performed and managed to miss the stage collapse. Who even knew he had a band? Our thoughts go out to the family of the single victim that died.
