In the state of Rhode Island, there is a law on the books that says that girls as young as the age of 16 can work as exotic dancers as long as they are home by 11:30 for school the next day. Lawmakers are rushing to put a stop to this law, working overtime to get it passed. It is illegal in Rhode Island to have sex with a minor under 18, or watch a pornographic film of a minor under 18, or even to employ a minor under 18 for prostitution, but live shows are not included in the ban as long as the previously mentioned stipulations are met.

This law came into the spotlight when a 16-year-old stripper at a Rhode Island club called “Cheaters” was discovered and authorities were called. However they could not arrest the club owner because no laws had been broken.
