We know this is a bit outdated and made its rounds a couple weeks ago, but we thought it was worth posting again. This is the 1984 video of Michael Jackson’s hair catching on fire while filming the Pepsi Commercial if you haven’t seen it yet. It is speculated that this was the incident that spawned MJ’s addiction to pain killers from the 3rd degree burns he received from the accident.

Ironically, Kathy Griffin was one of the extras in the crowd during the filming of the video. She said of the accident:

“I was happy to be an extra. I was just part of the crowd scene. I will just never forget seeing Michael Jackson from a distance and just thinking, ‘Oh my God, that’s Michael Jackson.’ You kind of can’t believe it. Jon [Lovitz] was there. They were taping it. We really didn’t notice [his hair on fire at first]. When it actually happened…he was literally spinning, and then there was smoke and a bunch of people kind of jumped on him.”
